Somerset's building stone changes from one corner of the county to another. Bath is famous for its honey coloured Bath stone, the villages around Ham Hill, such as Stoke sub Hamdon and South Petherton, are built from warm Hamstone, and towns such as Street and Somerton use the blue grey Blue Lias. Out on the Levels the landscape is flat, green and full of willow, and in the west the county meets the sea at Minehead, on the edge of Exmoor.
I love designing for settings like these. A mosaic for a Bath town garden might pick up the soft cream of the stone, while a panel for a cottage on the Levels could borrow the greens and silvers of the willow.

Commissioning a Mosaic in Somerset
The first step is a conversation about your idea and the space you have in mind. I'll suggest a design, then confirm the size, colours and price. A deposit of 10%, which is not refundable, reserves your place on my schedule, and I'll keep you up to date with photos as your mosaic comes together in my Bristol studio.
Somerset is well within my personal delivery area of about 100 miles, charged at 45p per mile for the round trip, or you are welcome to collect from the studio free of charge.

Outdoor pieces are made with materials suited to external conditions and are sealed appropriately, and I'll give you advice on caring for yours. Mosaic bistro tables are the exception: I recommend bringing them inside during the winter or in very bad weather.
Every piece is quoted individually, based on size, detail and design time. As a starting guide, 20cm by 30cm is from £250, 40cm by 60cm from £1,000, 60cm by 80cm from £2,000 and 80cm by 120cm from £4,000.
Yes. I make mosaic panels that can be set into paving, as well as floor panels and doorsteps. We'll talk about where the piece will go so the design and materials suit it.

I don't generally offer an installation service. The mounting method is agreed when we plan your commission, so the person fixing it knows what to expect.
Yes. House signs and numbers are made in the colours and lettering you choose, and I'll design them to sit well with your front door and the stone, brick or render around it.
Yes. You are welcome to collect your finished mosaic from my Bristol studio free of charge, which is an easy trip from most of Somerset.
