Mosaics for Oxfordshire Homes
Oxfordshire's buildings change as you cross the county. The west is Cotswold country, with the honey coloured stone of Burford, Witney and Chipping Norton. North Oxford is known for its Victorian Gothic villas, while the villages around Banbury are built from the ironstone quarried at places such as Hornton. In the south, Henley on Thames and Wallingford sit beside the river, with the Chilterns rising beyond.
Each of these settings suggests a different kind of mosaic. A rich, earthy palette works well with ironstone, lighter blues and greens suit a riverside garden, and a strong graphic design can look superb in a modern extension or a hallway.

Mosaic is a practical choice underfoot as well as on the wall. I make floor panels and doorsteps that turn an entrance into something memorable, including a doorstep for a London shop made from around 2,000 hand cut 2cm porcelain tiles.

Inside, a mosaic can bring colour to a hallway, a kitchen or a bathroom, where porcelain and ceramic are practical in humid rooms. I also work with interior designers on client projects across the county.
Mosaics Inspired by the River and the Garden
Rivers and wildlife are some of my favourite subjects. My Thames Bird Mosaic Project was a series of ten river birds, including a heron, a cormorant, a mallard and a wagtail, each 25cm square and made for outdoor use. Pieces like these suit a riverside garden in Abingdon or Henley just as well as a courtyard in Oxford.
Mosaic bistro tables are another favourite for gardens and patios. The porcelain tiles are mounted on a durable exterior frame, and I recommend bringing tables inside during the winter or in very bad weather to keep them looking their best. You can see more on my mosaic furniture page.

Yes. I work from my studio in Bristol and make mosaics for homes, gardens and businesses across Oxfordshire. Most of the county is within my personal delivery area of about 100 miles, charged at 45p per mile for the round trip.
We start with a conversation about your idea and the space. I suggest a design and confirm the size, colours and price, a deposit of 10% (not refundable) secures your place, and I send photos as your mosaic is made.
It depends on the size, the detail and the design time. A 20cm by 30cm piece starts from £250 and a 40cm by 60cm piece from £1,000, with larger work from £2,000 and £4,000. See my Good To Know page for the full guide.
Yes. I make floor panels and doorsteps as well as wall pieces, and we'll talk through where your mosaic is going so the design and materials suit it. You can see examples on my floors and doorsteps page.
Yes. I work with interior designers on client projects, agreeing the brief, sizes, colours and price, setting a production timeline and sending progress photos throughout. There is more on my interior designers page.
I don't generally offer an installation service myself. We agree the mounting method when we plan the piece, so whoever fits it knows exactly what to expect.
Yes. I make house numbers and name plaques in the colours and lettering you choose, designed to suit your front door and the brick or stone around it. You can see examples on my signs and numbers page.
Yes. My team building mosaic workshops are held at your own venue, for businesses, schools and other groups. Each person makes a 20cm square, and I grout and assemble them into one artwork for you to keep.
Yes. Every design is drawn from scratch, so a skyline of spires, a college gateway or a much loved view along the river can all become a mosaic. Tell me what you have in mind and I'll suggest a design and colours.
Yes, you are welcome to collect from my Bristol studio free of charge, which is an easy drive along the M4 and A34 from much of Oxfordshire.
