Felicity Ball Mosaics is based in Bristol, where I design and create distinctive mosaic art for homes, gardens, public spaces, and commercial settings. As a professional mosaic artist, I cut every tile by hand to produce textured, original pieces that add warmth, character, and colour to your environment.
Whether you're renovating a home or enhancing a garden, I make the process of mosaic commissions easy. Simply contact me with your idea or space in mind, and I’ll guide you through the mosaic design process, from initial concept to delivery. Progress updates and photos are provided throughout.
Every piece of bespoke art is crafted in my Bristol studio using porcelain or ceramic. I create both interior design art and exterior art, suitable for display all year round. From feature walls to outdoor pieces for the garden, my work is tailored to your setting.
I design mosaics for a wide range of purposes, including:
Each mosaic is a collaboration. I take care to reflect your ideas while offering expert input on scale, materials, and finish. Whether you're after something abstract or figurative, each design is created to be both practical and visually striking.
I use materials that are built to last, whether the piece is for inside your home or exposed to the elements. Outdoor mosaics are as weatherproof as possible, with advice on care given, while indoor pieces are made to complement your existing décor. All artwork is supplied with care guidance and delivery options.
Bristol gives a mosaic plenty to respond to. There are the Georgian terraces of Clifton and Hotwells, the Victorian villas of Redland and Cotham, and the brightly painted houses of Cliftonwood and Totterdown. Much of the city is built from grey Pennant sandstone, often with pale Bath stone around the doors and windows. When I design a house number, a panel for a garden wall or a piece for a hallway, I start with the building it is going on, so the colours sit happily with the stone, brick or render around it.
A Doorstep for a Bristol Business
One of my recent Bristol commissions was a welcome doorstep for a local business, made from more than 1,500 hand cut 2cm tiles in black and white. It is a practical piece of work as well as a decorative one, and it shows how a mosaic can give a shop front or a front door real character.
Because my studio is in Bristol, commissioning a mosaic here is simple. We can talk through your ideas, the space and the colours you love, and I'll send you photos as your piece takes shape. When it is finished you can collect it from my studio free of charge, or I can bring it to you.
Seen Around Clifton
Some of my work is already part of the city. One client told me they had admired the mosaics at Fishers restaurant in Clifton for years, asked who had made them and were given my card. A few months later they had a lobster mosaic of their own.
Houses, Gardens and Interiors
City gardens are often small, so a single panel on a wall, a mosaic set into a patio or a mosaic bistro table can make a big difference. House numbers and name plaques suit Bristol's terraced streets well, and inside, a panel can bring colour to a hallway, a kitchen or a bathroom, as porcelain and ceramic are practical in humid rooms. Many people also commission a piece as a gift for a new home, a wedding or a special birthday.
If you would like a mosaic that could only belong in Bristol, the city has no shortage of subjects. A few ideas to start the conversation:
Tell me what the city means to you and I'll design a piece around it, sharing the design with you before I start cutting.
I make mosaics for homes, gardens and businesses all over the city and in the towns around it, including:
Yes. My studio is in Bristol, and every mosaic I make is designed and hand cut there in porcelain and ceramic. I make pieces for homes, gardens and businesses across the city, and I deliver across the UK.

Yes. Outdoor pieces are made with materials suited to external conditions and sealed appropriately, and I'll give you care advice with your mosaic. House numbers, name plaques and garden panels all work well outside.
I don't generally offer an installation service. We agree how the piece will be mounted when we plan your commission, so the person fixing it knows exactly what to expect.
Yes. Send me photos of the space and I'll suggest colours that work with it. I have matched a house number to the stained glass in a front door, and made pieces to sit alongside a mosaic a client already owned.
Yes. As well as the doorstep for a Bristol business, I make pieces for shops, restaurants and other businesses, and I run team building mosaic workshops where each person makes a 20cm square that I assemble into one finished artwork.
