My client was so upset when a favourite plate of hers was broken, that she asked me to make a mosaic out of it. The beautiful blues and different widths of the plate leant itself perfectly to a 3D mosaic wave. It is off to her in the post this week.
Just popped this colourful, bespoke mosaic house number in the post to its new home. During this lockdown period in the UK, I am lucky to work from home and have been very busy. The first commissions I completed were these retro mosaic paving stones for a patio – now installed. It was great to work with so much colour!
I’m looking forward to making lots of new mosaics this year. I’ve made a great start with this kitchen mosaic of a bowl of fruit and vegetables, as a 60th birthday present for my sister-in-law’s new kitchen!

I was asked to talk about my work and the upcoming BS9 Arts Trail on May 14th – 15th on BBC Radio Bristol today. The sea-themed mosaic floor panels are now finished and being installed in the new build in Dorset, Poole, UK. Here is a picture of them just before they left the studio – look out for a final picture during the coming months. The panels will be on the floor straight ahead, as you enter the house, a bit like a runner carpet, and measure 240cm x 80cm in total. They have been a joy to make, and I look forward to developing this side of my portfolio.
